New Year – New Beginnings

Happy New Year!

This year started off quiet in our home. It wasn’t the usual chaos of soccer practices, work deadlines, or the sound of kids bickering in the background. For once, life slowed down, and I found myself with uninterrupted time to reflect.

There’s something about the start of a new year that feels like a blank page. It helps us to reset, to reimagine, and to take a deep breath before diving into whatever comes next.

For me, this quiet start has been a gift. Without the rush of “normal life,” I’ve had time and space to think about what really matters: the goals I want to pursue, the habits I want to embrace, and the relationships I want to nurture. It’s been a time to consider what I want this year to look like. Think about things that truly bring me joy and purpose. I made some goals like I’m sure a lot of you do. Here are mine:

Goal 1- To keep up with my exercise and eat healthier foods. Maybe even lose a few pounds.

Goal 2- Finish editing my book and get it published. Trying to write a book is harder that you think!

I know those sound like lofty goals but fingers crossed- I WILL make them happen.

I know the pace will pick up again very soon. The soccer fields will call, work will resume, and the kids will inevitably find something to argue over. But for now, I’m holding onto this moment of stillness, using it as a foundation for what’s to come.

Here’s to new beginnings, quiet reflections, and the hope that we can carry a little of this calm into the rest of the year.
